"That's a lie, Thomas!"
she cried, her voice cracking.
"Arthur left this house to Danny and me. You forged the papers to try and evict us because you wanted to sell the land to developers!"
Clay kept his eyes locked on Thomas, sensing the man's desperation. He had seen bullies like Thomas before—men who used intimidation and legal threats to prey on the vulnerable.
"Is that true?"
