Before Simmons could call airport security to escort Toby out, the automatic sliding doors of the executive corridor burst open.

Chapter IV: The Arrival of the Board

Sprinting across the concourse at full speed was Arthur Sterling, the Chief Executive Officer of the entire airline group, accompanied by the Airport Managing Director and four private security officers in dark suits.

Simmons’ eyes widened in astonishment. He quickly smoothed his tie, stepped forward with a servile smile, and raised his hand in greeting.

"Mr. Sterling! What an unexpected honor, sir! We had a small medical disturbance here, but I’ve already handled it and fired the insubordinate attendant—"

CEO Sterling didn't even look at Simmons. He shoved past the supervisor and dropped directly to one knee in front of the elderly man in the wheelchair.

"Mr. President!" Sterling gasped, his face pale with shock and deep respect. "Chairman Vance! Sir, why were you traveling coach without your security detail? We had the private hangar prepared!"

Simmons froze as if struck by lightning. The clipboard slipped from his fingers, clattering onto the tiles.

Chairman Vance.

The billionaire founder, majority shareholder, and undisputed owner of the airline conglomerate and airport terminal leases.
