General Roker calmly took another sip from his gold-mended cup, then slowly set it down on the iron armrest. He looked up at the trembling officer with crushing, unyielding finality.

"General Austin," Roker said softly, his voice echoing across the silent lawn. "Relieve this young man of his sidearm and commission."

"Immediately, sir," General Austin commanded, signaling the Military Police behind her.

Two armed MPs seized Trent, disarming him in one fluid motion and forcing his arms behind his back as heavy steel cuffs locked around his wrists.

"General! Please! I didn't recognize him!" Trent stammered in hysterical tears as his medals and badges were stripped from his chest right on the memorial lawn.

"You didn't need to recognize a General to treat a human elder with dignity," General Austin replied coldly. "You are under arrest for brandishing a service weapon, gross insubordination, and conduct unbecoming an officer."

As the disgraced cadet was hauled away to face court-martial, General Roker rose smoothly to his feet, returning General Austin’s salute with quiet, timeless dignity.

Standing beneath the towering oaks, the true legacy of honor, courage, and respect stood unbroken.
