Chapter II: The Cold-Hearted Supervisor
Marching over with heavy, aggressive strides was Bradley Vance, the senior terminal operations supervisor. Wearing a bright orange safety vest over a crisp white button-down shirt and black tie, Bradley glared down at Clara with undisguised contempt.
"You left your assigned station and abandoned your duties to attend to an unauthorized loiterer," Bradley barked, stepping into Clara's space. "You're suspended. Surrender your badge and report to HR."
Clara stood up to face him, her eyes burning with quiet courage.
"He needed help, Mr. Vance."
"I don't care," Bradley sneered. "Company protocol dictates custodial staff do not provide passenger medical care. You're done here."
Chapter III: The Call from the Floor
Dozens of arriving passengers stopped in their tracks, murmuring in outrage at the supervisor's callousness, but none dared step in.
Behind Bradley, the elderly traveler slowly lowered the plastic water bottle. The fragile, helpless demeanor vanished entirely. His breathing steadied into calm rhythm, and his piercing blue eyes sharpened with undeniable, commanding authority.
Reaching inside his overcoat, he pulled out a sleek black smartphone.
