“Hands behind your back.”
Trevor was arrested for burglary, breaking and entering, and property damage.
As officers led him away, he kept insisting his mother would get him out.
She couldn't.
And the next night's HOA meeting was about to become the biggest disaster of Vivian's life.
Chapter 5 — The HOA Meeting
The Willowbrook Community Center was packed.
Residents arrived carrying years of violation notices.
A local reporter was there.
Vivian sat in the front row.
She looked confident.
Until I turned on the presentation.
The first slide showed HOA financial records.
I explained the payments to companies connected to Vivian.
Then Phil presented the financial analysis.
The estimated losses exceeded $73,000.
Residents began checking their own records.
People started realizing they had been paying fraudulent fines.
Then I showed the violation records from previous homeowners.
The room became increasingly angry.
Vivian stood.
“These are malicious lies.”
Nobody listened.
Then I played the recording from my front door.
Trevor's voice filled the room.
“My mom runs the HOA around here, so technically I can go wherever I want.”
The room erupted.
Then I showed the security footage of Trevor entering my house.
Finally, I played a recording of Vivian herself.
She had offered to “waive” my violations if I stopped investigating the HOA finances.
