As they walked past the glittering rows of high-society guests, a sudden commotion occurred near the service entrance.

Victoria Sinclair stood there, dressed in a faded, past-season designer gown, her face pale and her eyes wild with desperation as she tried to force her way past the venue security guards. She had been reduced to begging old family friends for corporate loans just to keep her remaining assets from being seized by the courts.

The moment Victoria’s eyes locked onto Rosa—standing confidently beside the most powerful billionaire in the city, wearing an emerald gown that cost more than Victoria's remaining bank balance—her face twisted into an expression of raw, unadulterated shock and burning jealousy.

“You!” Victoria shrieked, pointing a trembling, unjeweled finger at Rosa. “You stole my life! You were nothing but a common maid! You manipulated Daniel into ruining my family!”

Daniel instantly stepped in front of Rosa, his massive frame completely blocking Victoria from view, his grey eyes flashing with a cold, murderous intensity that made the security guards immediately grab the disgraced socialite’s arms.

“Victoria,” Daniel said, his voice carrying the absolute weight of a final, permanent execution order. “Six months ago, you tore a woman’s dress in my house because you thought her poverty made her invisible. Tonight, she is the primary chairperson of the largest architectural fund in the state, and you are officially barred from entering any property that carries the Whitfield name. Take her out.”

The security guards ruthlessly dragged Victoria out into the cold rain of the street, her frantic screams completely drowned out by the soaring, beautiful classical music of the gala orchestra.

Rosa looked up at Daniel, her hand tightening around his arm with a deep, profound gratitude. “Thank you for protecting me, Daniel.”

“I’m not just protecting you tonight, Rosa,” Daniel murmured softly, leaning down to press a warm, gentle kiss against her temple. “I’m making sure the entire world knows exactly who the queen of this city truly is.”

Chapter 6 - The Unveiled Studio

By the end of the fiscal year, the old eastern wing of the Whitfield mansion had been completely transformed into a state-of-the-art architectural design studio.

The vast room featured floor-to-ceiling glass windows overlooking the rolling green lawns of the estate, massive mahogany drafting tables covered in blueprints, and walls lined with beautiful, framed photographs of the community centers and historical libraries Rosa had successfully restored across the state.

Rosa was standing near the main drafting table on a quiet, beautiful evening, sketching a new concept for a children's park in Queens. The sun was setting over the horizon, painting the room in deep hues of gold and violet.

Suddenly, a pair of powerful arms wrapped securely around her waist from behind.

Daniel pulled her back firmly against his broad chest, his chin resting gently on her shoulder as he looked down at the beautiful sketch she was creating. He had removed his formal corporate jacket, his white shirt sleeves rolled up, radiating a deep, peaceful warmth that completely enveloped her.

“You’re working late again, my brilliant architect,” Daniel whispered affectionately into her ear, his thumb softly tracing the soft skin of her bare shoulder—the exact shoulder where her uniform dress had been torn a year ago.

“I wanted to finish these playground lines before Lily goes to bed, Daniel,” Rosa smiled, leaning her head back against his chest, feeling the steady, comforting beat of his heart. “She told me she wants the swings to look like butterfly wings.”
