“What the hell is this little toy?”
“What the hell is this little toy?”
The cocky local sheriff smirked as he dug through the personal belongings of the quiet woman he had just wrongfully arrested and dragged into his station. He carelessly tossed a sleek, encrypted black device onto the metal counter, completely clueless about what he was actually holding.
The woman didn’t panic. She didn’t even flinch. Maintaining dead eye contact with absolute ice in her veins, she calmly replied, “That’s an Everpoint device.”
Ignoring his confused scoff, she smoothly picked up the precinct’s heavy phone receiver and dialed a secure line. Without missing a single beat, she spoke clearly into the receiver: “General Hayes speaking.”
The voice on the other end of the line instantly responded with strict, unquestioning military respect. “Go ahead, General.”
The sheriff’s arrogant smirk instantly vanished. The blood completely drained from his face as General Hayes slowly turned to him, her eyes locking onto his terrified stare. She spoke right into the phone, “You’ve detained a General.”
The voice on the other end boomed so loudly through the receiver that the entire precinct could hear it: “Release her immediately!”

Before the trembling sheriff could even open his mouth to apologize, a deafening, thunderous roar shook the walls of the police station. The sheriff stumbled backward in pure terror, looking out the window as two massive military Black Hawk helicopters violently touched down right in the precinct’s parking lot, kicking up a massive storm of dust and dirt.
“What… what is happening?” the sheriff stammered, shaking like a leaf as he realized he just unlawfully arrested a top-tier military boss.
