Chapter V: The Seat of Honor
Chairman Vance stood up from the table, looking Victor straight in the eye with piercing clarity.
"You measured this restaurant’s prestige by the wealth in your patrons' pockets," Chairman Vance said, his voice echoing across the silent marble hall. "You forgot that real honor comes from basic human compassion."
Vance turned toward the lead attorney.
"Mr. Sterling’s management contract is terminated immediately. Void his performance shares and ensure he is permanently blacklisted from all properties in our portfolio."
Victor collapsed backward against a pillar, speechless and trembling as security escorted him out into the cold rain.
Chairman Vance then turned to Leo, whose hands still held his folded apron. The billionaire reached out, placing a firm, fatherly hand on the young man’s shoulder.
"You gave up your only meal to feed a stranger in the dark," Vance said with deep emotion. "Starting tonight, you are the general manager of this restaurant, with full ownership equity and full funding for your hospitality degree."
The entire dining room broke into spontaneous applause as Leo shook Chairman Vance’s hand, knowing that doing the right thing had changed his destiny forever.
