"I'm fine, Deputy," Marcus answered calmly, pointing toward the dome camera on the ceiling. "The cloud feed captured aggravated felony criminal mischief, unlawful property trespass, and verbal threats in full 4K."
Chapter V: The Bankruptcy of Arrogance
The deputy turned toward the trembling couple in pink and khaki, pulling out two pairs of steel handcuffs.
"Under state penal code, malicious destruction of private property exceeding five thousand dollars is a first-degree felony carrying up to ten years in state prison," the deputy announced coldly. "Turn around and place your hands behind your backs."
Brenda let out a terrified shriek as the cold steel ratcheted around her wrists: "Greg, do something! Call our lawyer! We can't go to jail!"
Greg stood paralyzed, watching in horror as the deputy handcuffed him as an accomplice at the scene.
Marcus walked calmly to the front of his shattered Lamborghini, pulled out his phone, and dialed his private insurance and legal team.
"File the restitution claim against the Sterling family trust for the full replacement value of the vehicle, plus civil punitive damages," Marcus spoke into the receiver, looking straight into Brenda's tear-streaked face. "Take the house to pay for it."
As the patrol cars pulled away with the disgraced HOA couple in the back, the neighbors who had gathered on the street watched in stunned silence, knowing that the neighborhood reign of terror had finally met its crushing end.
