"Officer Davis," Marcus said, turning to the officers. "Under Title 42 of the United States Code, Section 1983, and state statutes regarding fraudulent emergency reporting and discriminatory harassment under color of residential authority, I am formally filing charges against Mrs. Sterling. This video, along with the neighborhood CCTV logs of her targeted surveillance over the last three weeks, is already uploading to my firm's cloud servers."

Officer Davis immediately closed his notepad and turned his stern gaze upon Victoria.

"Mrs. Sterling, did you knowingly dispatch emergency services to a verified property owner who was violating no city ordinances or penal codes?"

"I... I was only checking community badges..." Victoria stammered, clutching her sweater with cold, sweating hands. "I thought... the bylaws..."

"The bylaws do not supersede federal law, ma'am," Officer Davis interrupted sharply. "Filing a false police report is a class-A misdemeanor. Please step away from Mr. Vance's property immediately and return to your residence."

As the neighbors watched in hushed murmurs and the officers began writing Victoria a formal misdemeanor summons on the curb, Marcus calmly set his phone back down on the towel. He put his sunglasses back on, sat down in his chair, and took a bite of a fresh strawberry—leaving the disgraced neighborhood gatekeeper standing in the ruins of her own prejudice.
