Marcus chuckled, nodding to his men. "Hear that, boys? The kid's got grease in his veins and more nerve than half the grown men on the highway."

For the next two hours, while the Texas sky unleashed its fury against the garage roof, the grim outlaws became guests in a teenager’s home. Toby brought out a stack of dry towels, brewed a large pot of black coffee, and handed out soda cans from the garage fridge. In return, the hardened bikers treated the sixteen-year-old like an equal, regaling him with stories from cross-country runs, teaching him the finer points of engine tuning, and showing him how to inspect a carburetor by ear.

When the storm finally passed and the clouds parted to reveal a clean sunset, Marcus handed Toby an official Iron Vandal Raiders brass challenge coin and a handwritten note with a private number.

"Any time you need a hand, or whenever you’re ready to learn how to ride your own machine, you call that number," Marcus said, patting Toby's back before buckling his helmet. "The Raiders don't forget their debts."

As the garage door rolled up and the eight Harley-Davidsons rumbled out onto the steaming street, Toby stood on the driveway holding the coin. The quiet suburban kid was no longer just a bystander on the sidewalk; he was the boy who opened the door when the storm came, earning the lifelong respect of the open road.
