Chapter Two: The Intrusion of Hubris
The heavy mahogany-trimmed door separating the cockpit from the main cabin slid open with a soft hiss, breaking the tranquil silence. Striding down the narrow aisle with heavy, aggressive footsteps was Captain Thomas Miller.
Captain Miller was a veteran aviator whose chest bore rows of gilded wings and service bars. He wore a crisp white pilot shirt with four thick gold stripes sewn onto the epaulets, a sharp black silk tie, and a face carved from years of arrogant entitlement. To Miller, his position as chief captain of this private aviation fleet gave him a god-like dominion over the aircraft. He looked down upon passengers not as clients, but as inconveniences in his personal kingdom.
Stopping abruptly beside Nyraβs seat, Miller leaned over with an alarming lack of professional distance. His face twisted into a mask of furious condescension, his features contorting as he invaded her personal space. Without a shred of respect, he shoved his index finger out, pointing it directly at her face like a loaded weapon.
"Get up! Move to the back!" Miller barked, his voice loud, abrasive, and dripping with unbridled hostility, shattering the serene acoustic balance of the cabin.
