“That confidence is not the same thing as discipline.”
Marcus had no answer.
CHAPTER 4 — THE REAL REASON
The audience expected Elena to humiliate Marcus.
She didn't.
Instead, she asked the organizer to turn off the arena lights.
A screen behind the ring came alive.
Video footage appeared.
It showed Marcus training younger fighters.
In one clip, he mocked a nervous teenager.
In another, he encouraged students to ignore safety instructions.
In a third, he laughed when a trainee admitted that he was afraid.
Marcus watched in silence.
Elena stepped toward the microphone.
“A champion has two responsibilities,” she said.
“To win when necessary—and to make sure the people who follow him become stronger, not smaller.”
Marcus shook his head.
“You came here to attack me.”
“No.”
“Then why expose this?”
“Because people copied you.”
She pointed toward the younger fighters seated beside the ring.
“They learned that strength means humiliation.”
Marcus looked at them.
One boy lowered his eyes.
Elena continued.
“I know what it feels like to enter a room where people have already decided what you are capable of.”
Her voice remained calm.
“That is why I didn't answer your insult.”
She looked directly at Marcus.
“I answered your assumption.”
The arena was completely silent.
Then the senior instructor stepped forward.
Daniel announced that the training program would be suspended pending an independent review.
Marcus looked stunned.
He had expected Elena to seek revenge.
Instead, she had forced everyone to confront the culture surrounding the sport.
CHAPTER 5 — THE CHAMPION'S CHOICE
Marcus left the ring that night without speaking to the press.
For the first time in years, he avoided the cameras.
He went to the empty training room.
The walls were covered with photographs of his victories: championships, trophies, crowds.
