"Commander! What is this?!" Miller stammered in complete panic. "We were just conducting a routine field interview—"
"You just extorted Donald Sterling, Senior Special Prosecutor for Public Integrity," the Commander barked, ripping the badge off Miller's chest. "You've been under federal wiretap surveillance for six months, Miller. This sidewalk robbery just sealed your 20-year sentence."
The Commander retrieved the stolen cash from Miller's pocket, walked over to Donald, and handed it back with a sharp, respectful salute.
"Mr. Prosecutor," the Commander said. "The warrant is executed. The entire ring has been dismantled."
Donald took his money, slipped it into his wallet, and looked down at Miller being loaded into the back of a tactical transport in complete disgrace.
"A badge is a pledge to serve the people," Donald said quietly. "Not a weapon to rob them."
Donald turned and walked into the bank, leaving behind a clean street where justice and the rule of law were finally restored.
