Chapter III: The Deputy's Inspection
Officer Vance took the purple binder from Maya’s hands, his partner Officer Rodriguez leaning in to inspect the records.
As Vance turned the pages, his brow furrowed in serious concentration.
There were no forged printouts or missing stamps. Every single document was an original, certified certificate of occupancy from the City Planning Commission, accompanied by county tax receipts stamped with the Chief Registrar’s personal signature dating back over a decade.
"Ma'am," Officer Vance said, turning his stern gaze onto Victoria. "These aren't fabrications. These are original certified municipal deeds and approved state zoning variances."
Victoria’s confident sneer flickered into sharp outrage.
"I don't care what municipal rubber-stamps she bought!" Victoria barked. "HOA covenants supersede city permits! As board president, I demand you escort her off this property immediately!"
