Evan wore an expensive gray coat.

"Mrs. Bennett."

Nora didn't invite him inside.

"You have something that belongs to the school."

"No."

His expression hardened.

"You have confidential school property."

"I have evidence showing what happened to my daughter."

"My son is twelve years old."

"So is my daughter."

"He made a mistake."

Nora stared at him.

"A broken wrist is a mistake?"

Evan stepped closer.

"Children fight."

"Your son attacked mine."

"He denies it."

"I have video."

For the first time, Evan looked nervous.

Nora noticed.

Then he whispered:

"You don't understand what you're getting into."

She smiled.

"Actually, I do."

She held up her phone.

"The police have a copy."

Evan's face went pale.

"You wouldn't."

"I already did."

The attorneys exchanged a glance.

Nora closed the door.

She thought the confrontation was over.

It wasn't.
