Before he could rise, Elias controlled his wrist and elbow.
There was no spectacle.
No flourish.
Just complete control.
"Let go!" Marcus demanded.
Elias did not increase the pressure.
"You can tap."
"I don't tap."
"Then you haven't learned the lesson yet."
Marcus tried to pull free.
Elias adjusted his position by an inch.
Marcus stopped.
The room could see the truth now.
The strongest student in the dojo had been defeated without being punched.
Sarah looked at Leo.
Leo looked back.
Something had changed.
The younger students were no longer watching Marcus with fear.
They were watching him with uncertainty.

Elias released the hold.
Marcus rolled away and sat up.
He looked furious, embarrassed, and exhausted.
"You think you're some kind of master?"
"No."
"Then who are you?"
Elias was silent for a moment.
"I've spent many years training. I've also spent many years learning what training is supposed to be for."
Marcus stood again.
"Then prove it."
Elias looked around the dojo.
"Your students don't need another fight."
He pointed toward Leo.
