"Always direct."
"Answer me."
Kane poured himself a drink.
"Your club has an interesting reputation."
"Where is she?"
Kane sighed.
"You think you're a hero because a little girl gave you some money."
Jax took one step forward.
Kane's guards immediately moved.
"Careful."
Jax looked around the room.
"Four guards. Two hidden exits. No Sarah."
Kane's smile disappeared.
Jax continued.
"You're not here to make a trade."
"Then why am I here?"
"To find out whether Sarah gave us anything before she disappeared."
Kane's face revealed the answer.
For one second.
But Jax saw it.
Sarah was alive.
Jax smiled without warmth.
"Thanks."
Kane's expression darkened.
"Get him."
The room erupted.
Jax knocked the nearest guard into a table and ran through the rear door.
Cole's motorcycle roared past the alley.
"Get on!"
They sped away as bullets struck the pavement behind them.
By dawn, Tommy had made a decision.
He contacted Jax.
"I know where Kane took Sarah."
Jax drove immediately to meet him.
Tommy stood outside an abandoned Kane Logistics warehouse near the river.
"I used to deliver security equipment here," he said.
"There's a basement nobody talks about."
"Why didn't you tell us before?"
Tommy looked ashamed.
"Because I was scared."
Jax nodded.
"Fear doesn't make you a coward."
Tommy looked at him.
"What does?"
"Knowing what's right and refusing to do it."
Tommy lowered his head.
Jax's phone vibrated.
It was Emily.
"Jax?"
He immediately softened his voice.
"Hey, kid."
"I had a dream."
Jax closed his eyes.
"About what?"
"Mom was calling me."
A long silence followed.
Then Emily whispered, "Please don't stop looking."
Jax stared at the warehouse.
"We're not stopping."
Inside that building, behind concrete walls and locked steel doors, they found a small room.
It was empty.
Except for a woman's bracelet lying on the floor.
Emily had described it perfectly.
Silver.
With a tiny blue stone.
Sarah had been there.
But then Cole noticed something scratched into the wall.
Three words.
WESTERN TRANSFER YARD.
Jax stared at the message.
Sarah had left them a clue.
She was still fighting.
And they were finally getting close.
Chapter 5
The Western Transfer Yard sat thirty miles outside town.
Jax refused to waste time.
The Iron Wolves moved before sunset.
