As the crowd began to thin, Caleb walked into his newly relocated architectural office on the second floor of the center. The room smelled of fresh paint and cedar. He smiled, looking at the framed photograph of his mother resting on his desk.
A delivery worker knocked on the open door, holding a flat, heavy cardboard shipping tube. "Caleb Vale? This was delivered to the front desk for you. Required a signature."
Caleb frowned. He hadn't ordered any large prints. He signed for the package, tipped the worker, and set the tube on his drafting table. He popped the plastic cap and slid out a thick, aged architectural blueprint.
He unrolled the blueprint, pinning the corners down. It was a schematic for an enormous, underground logistics facility.
Caleb’s blood ran completely cold.
In the bottom right corner of the blueprint, written in his mother’s unmistakable, elegant handwriting, was a single, terrifying note:
Victor Raines was just the accountant, Caleb. The man who actually built the offshore trafficking hubs is still operating in New York. The Vale Trust is compromised. Find the Third Archive.

Caleb stared at the blueprint, his breath hitching in his throat. He looked at the door as Hannah walked in, smiling brightly, completely unaware of the shadow that had just fallen over the room.
The battle for Bridge House was won. Victor Raines was behind bars. But as Caleb looked at the schematic of a nightmare facility his mother had been hunting before her death, he realized with absolute, chilling certainty that the true war for his family's legacy had only just begun.
"Everyone is heading over to the Italian place on 18th Street for dinner," Hannah smiled, leaning over to kiss his cheek. "My dad has already claimed the biggest table. Are you ready?"
Caleb forced a smile. He raised his hands and signed: "I'll be right there. I just need to file a few documents from the delivery."
Hannah paused, her sharp intuition picking up on the sudden shift in his demeanor. She looked at the cardboard tube, then back at Caleb.
"You're lying to me," Hannah said, her voice dropping to a gentle but firm whisper. She signed as she spoke. "You have that look in your eyes, Caleb. The same look you had when we found Maya in Milwaukee. What is in the tube?"
Caleb sighed, knowing better than to try and hide anything from the woman he was going to marry. He pulled the blueprint out and unrolled it flat on the drafting table.
Hannah’s eyes scanned the complex, multi-level schematic. It depicted a sprawling, subterranean logistics facility, complete with fortified loading docks and what looked like high-security holding cells. Then, her eyes fell on Elena Vale’s handwritten note in the corner.

Hannah covered her mouth, a profound sense of dread washing over her. "Victor was just the accountant," she read aloud, her voice trembling. "Oh my god, Caleb. Your mother wasn't just investigating financial embezzlement. She was tracking the actual infrastructure of a trafficking ring."
"And whoever built this facility is still operating in New York," Caleb signed, his hands moving with sharp, tense precision. "The Vale Trust is compromised. That means this facility was funded, at least in part, by my family's money."
